He listens really well - not only with his ears, but also with his eyes, his hands, and most of all with his heart. Maybe it’s a cliché, but he really is an old soul in a young man's body.

Valentine Lyashenko

Functional Fitness and Movement coach

Exercise, movement exploration, and massage therapy have always been a part of my life. From a very young age I found true joy through movement and later I was lucky enough to experience bodywork and physical therapy in a restorative sense.

Functional fitness training improves balance, general strength, endurance, coordination, mobility, stability and physical awareness. The aforementioned elements are present in human day-to-day functions. If one function becomes impaired it will affect the rest of the elements and vice versa. Therefore, it is of paramount importance that the training has a multidimensional approach.

testimonials

"I've taught thousands of massage therapists and hundreds of trainers. Valentine Lyashenko is one of the best. He and I have been teaching movement science and massage technique all over the country for the last 7 years. He trains and massages my chiropractic clients. They are healthier and happier working with him. And they're setting new goals because they achieved the ones they had when they started.

Valentine is an everyday magician. His work is so straightforward, direct, efficient and fluid that it's easy not to notice what he does and how he does it. He finds just the right exercise for a single part of a single muscle. He adapts the plan as he goes along, bringing the gym to the client as much as he brings the client to the gym. His work affects every level of the client, the mind and spirit as well as the body.

Valentine works his clients hard and with heart. His work is inventive, caring, body-logical, safe and effective whether the goal is weight loss, muscle sculpting or plain old strength, flexibility and coordination."

"Valentine Lyashenko is an exceptional personal trainer, massage therapist, and coach. I chose to start working with him nearly 5 years ago, and I consider it one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. As a man in my mid 70s, I needed to find a way to cope better with increasingly debilitating scoliosis and arthritis, and I’m very grateful for the referral from my chiropractor, suggesting that I work with Valentine.

Knowing myself, though, I wouldn’t have continued working with him were it not for Valentine’s many wonderful qualities. He’s knowledgeable about anatomy, body mechanics, neurology, and psychology; he’s a skilled bodyworker, using a range of techniques as needed; he’s curious - always interested in learning more; he’s patient, not dogmatic; he’s inspiring; and he’s funny. Most important, he listens really well - not only with his ears, but also with his eyes, his hands, and most of all with his heart. Maybe it’s a cliché, but he really is an old soul in a young man's body."

Client
"I have been a client of Valentine’s for 3 years and initially sought his help with fibromyalgia, chronic pain, and injuries. Over time as I began to heal, our sessions became more challenging - I never knew I could become so strong at 49-years-young! Valentine is highly educated and trained in multiple disciplines making him an extraordinarily talented personal trainer, bodyworker and Feldenkrais practitioner. He creates personalized and flexible sessions that respect and support the physical and emotional needs that accompany disease management while also helping me to become stronger in a safe and caring way. Valentine is kind, patient, compassionate, intelligent, and fun - our sessions are the best part of my week! Whether you are an athlete or someone like me, there is no better trainer than Valentine!"
